Better Than Expected
Second Berwick Pool Party Attracts New Members
While awaiting required approvals on the article I had planned for today, I can report on a very successful second swim at the private pool we found in Berwick ME. I had expected that, with so many people participating in the Big Nude Cruise right now, the number of attendees this month would be small. Instead, we increased from 16 participants at our first swim at that location to 26 at this month’s event, with four new memberships.
While the attendance was large, enough people brought portable chairs of their own that there was seating for everyone, and the reviews I’ve received have been nothing but praiseworthy for the facility, with its warm room, 85° heated pool, and the chance to share stories and friendships.
Surprisingly, with all of the snacks that people brought, there were a lot of leftovers, and participants barely made a dent in the deli meat I brought along for ham and/or turkey sandwiches. The Texas Trash Pies that I made with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, graham crackers, pecans, and pretzels proved to be a bit “rich” for most people, so I ended up bringing home a whole pie, along with the uneaten deli meat and a half-dozen cookies.
Having that many people present gave me a better idea of the pool area’s and parking lot’s capacity, so future swims will be limited to 30 participants to avoid overcrowding. Keep that in mind for the April “Animal Crackers” swim on Saturday, April 18.
Next month, we’ll be holding our annual Unwearin’ o’ the Green Party to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a bit early, on Sunday, March 15. It will take place at our traditional haunts, the Inn at East Hill Farm in Troy NH.
The Berwick pool will not be available after April, until next fall, so that brings us to a decision about our May get-together. We might hold another clothing-optional meal at the Merrimack Valley Railroad Function Hall in Northfield in May, or schedule something outdoors, such as a nude hike. I’d like to hear suggestions from others on what they would like to see, so I’m setting up a poll:
Membership
Naturist New Hampshire welcomes everyone with supportive, respective, and non-judgmental attitudes, whether they are members or not, but membership does have its advantages. Members receive a $10 discount on event fees which can quickly cover the cost of dues, and memberships cover everyone in the household. (Those who are not members, but are affiliated with other naturist organizations, receive a $5 discount from posted event fees.)
In keeping with New Hampshire’s Live Free or Die motto, we offer a range of membership options, as well as separate opportunities to join AANR and TNSF through our club:
Basic Membership, at $30 per household, includes a free subscription to Living Free: Naturism & Our World, which includes the NNH newsletter and previews of the articles being prepared for the quarterly e-zine.

Gold Key Membership, at $725, provides admission for two at all NNH events, as well as all of the above benefits.
Join the Naturist Society Foundation through NNH, and a portion of your fee remains with the local club.
Join the American Association for Nude Recreation through NNH for $47 and save compared to the regular membership fee of $65.
Note About AANR: In order to maintain our club affiliation with AANR, we need to have 15 memberships through NNH, so please consider an NNH Profile Membership which includes AANR dues, or join AANR separately through the above link.
