Thailand may not be well-known as a naturist destination, but it actually has a thriving community promoted by the Naturist Association Thailand Co., Ltd. (NAT). The association states on its website that it promotes a lifestyle “for health and wellness-minded people who enjoy clothing-optional, naturist, or nudist recreation in Thailand.”
One popular destination for local and international naturists is Chan Resort in Pattaya, a popular beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand, just 150 km southeast of Bangkok. It was the first resort in Thailand to provide a special place for naturists, saying on its website, “We believe in enjoying the sun fully, naked, … and the natural way.”
Reviews on TripAdvisor describe Chan Resort as “very clean and the staff are fantastic and polite”. One review said Jan the host is “sociable and nice to talk to” while “the rooms are spacious and cleaned regularly.” The pool has plenty of sun loungers and there a “delicious selection of food”, making the resort “highly recommended”.
Another guest said Ja, the manager, as well as Atom, Patti, Da, and Na were very helpful and made them feel welcome. and were all extremely helpful.
“We spent 10 days here in February in one of the superior poolside rooms, just had to step over the little balcony wall and we were by the pool. This is a small resort but that gives it a lovely atmosphere, as the majority of guests are friendly. The room was cleaned every day and everywhere was spotless. Food onsite was very tasty and freshly cooked.”
