When announcing the opportunity for a private rental of a campground this summer, I estimated a price of about $100 per person for an overnight event and $30 per person for day visitors. That figure was the average cost, based on the total rental fee, but attendees would be able to select from a range of camping options, from open camping and the eight formal campsites to an A-Frame, a Serenity Dome, a yurt, and furnished tents. Obviously, the cost of placing a tent in a field would be less than that of accommodations in the A-Frame, so the actual price range is probably $30 to $300.
That is for a one-day, one-night option, Saturday into Sunday; it would be more if we made it full weekend event.
As I said earlier, the campground is close to Interstate-93, but offers plenty of privacy and opportunities for hiking and swimming in the Baker River, which weaves its way through the property, offering both deep and shallow pools. A large open field is suitable for yoga, Frisbee®, or other games, as well as open camping. The campground also has a sauna, a covered pavilion, a gym, a playground, bath house, and other areas for social activities. There is a hot tub at the A-Frame.
I’m planning for a four-hour introductory visit on May 18, giving people a chance to see the campground and perhaps get in a little hiking or even a plunge in the Baker River. The water will not be warm in May, and be prepared for black fly season — be sure to bring insect repellent. Providing there is enough interest in this event, Naturist New Hampshire will provide snacks, but we need to have a preliminary count to work out the details. Email me at free@natnh.com if this opportunity to get together with naturist friends and preview what we might do this summer is of interest.
In order to secure exclusive use of the campground this summer, we need to get in ahead of others who might want reservations, so we’d appreciate any donations that would enable us to prebook a week, potentially for June or September. (Lots of things happening elsewhere in July and August.) If you are able to make a donation, click the button below to make an online contribution.
