Naturist Defends Sunbathing On British Television

Good Morning Britain hosts Ed Balls and Charlotte Hawkins interview Helen Barriman about the controversy over nude sunbathing.

Helen Barriman, a member of British Naturism, appeared nude (but pixelated) on the May 30 installment of Good Morning Britain in order to discuss the dozens of complaints that the City of London Corporation had received about a person who chose to sunbathe naked at a park.

“All the things going on in the world at the moment, are we really that bothered about a nude body sunbathing in a quiet corner of a park? There’s so much else going on that we could be concerned about,” Barriman said.

“'My body is just my body; there’s nothing sensational about it; there’s no need to sexualize it. I accept it for what it is,” she said.
