There Are Now Five Education Foundation Scholarships
The AANR Education Foundation, a charitable partner of the American Association for Nude Recreation, provides grants and scholarships to organizations and individuals that support its goals and objectives. Those include explaining the values and benefits of nude recreation to the public to ensure an understanding of nudism and its rightful status as a social and recreational practice.
This year’s scholarship deadline is May 31, and in addition to the three traditional EF scholarships, the foundation is continuing to offer a joint Education Foundation/Naturist Education Foundation scholarship of $2,000, as well as a newly formed EF/AANR Florida Region scholarship of $2,000. That means there are five scholarship opportunities with a total of $7,000 to be awarded.
There are three tiers to the traditional scholarships, with the top-tier scholarship winner receiving a $1,500 scholarship. The second-tier scholarship is for $1,000, and the third tier is $500. Selections are based on a detailed evaluation of the applications received.
The scholarships assisting students in pursuing their education are open to those who are age 17 and older with AANR affiliations and/or experience in the organization. That includes the winners of AANR regional scholarships.
There is further information on the scholarships at https://aanr-ef.com/scholarships. Completed applications may be scanned and emailed to mailto:scholarships@aanr-ef.com.
The AANR Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means that the Internal Revenue Service considers contributions and bequests to the foundation to be tax-deductible. Individuals, estates, and business entities are able to support the foundation’s efforts by helping to fund its programs, and write off those donations.
Don Sloan, one of the founders and a past president of the Education Foundation, said, “It is important to note that the AANR Education Foundation functions independently of AANR, and AANR Education Foundation board members are not selected by AANR.” He noted, “The AANR Education Foundation has assured the AANR trustees that its actions will always be consistent with the principles and standards of the AANR.”
The Naturist Education Foundation is a nonprofit informational and educational organization that grew and developed from the free beach movement in North America. In addition to joining the AANR Education Foundation in sponsoring a scholarship, the NEF has established the NEF Research Library to build and maintain what will be the world’s largest and most complete collection of naturist-themed magazines, books, and other items of historical or cultural importance. It makes those resources available to serious researchers to improve academic and public understanding of what naturism has been and is today.
Like the AANR Education Foundation, the Naturist Education Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that can take tax-deductible contributions.
Collaborations such as this between naturist organizations benefit both the naturist community and the public in general.
