The MoonGroove Music and Arts Festival has announced the headliners and the complete musical lineup for this year’s event at the 130-acre Penn Sylvan Health Society in Mohnton PA, one of the oldest family-oriented nudist camps in the United States.
Running from July 17 to 20, the festival also will feature food and merchandise vendors, along with workshops on naturism and art.
Headliners on Friday, July 18, will be Chalk Dinosaur, a live electronic duo from Pittsburgh, presenting a fusion of dance, funk, and psychedelic rock. Also returning on Friday is Minka, a nationally touring synth-funk band that has been a favorite with MoonGroove audiences in past years.
Saturday’s headliners will include Worldtown Soundsystem, an eight-piece high-voltage house music band that fuses electronic dance music with global rhythms and Philly soul. Also performing on Saturday will be Keegan Tawa and Hot Like Mars. Keegan is a saxophonist, Duduk player, composer, and engineer from Philadelphia. His background is in jazz, and his passion for storytelling gives him “a rare and unmistakable approach to composition and sound”. Hot Like Mars, from Chicago, is a funky, soulful rock band that has earned regional acclaim in recent years.
On Sunday, Carter Fox and the Union will be the featured headliners. Carter, known as the “Soulful Traveling Spaceman Bassman”, is a musician, songwriter, producer, and artist who has performed since the age of 15, and has toured with R&B legend Freddie Jackson and Grammy Award-winner Regina Belle.
